Cathole Cave, Park Wood Quarry

PREAMBLE

Small old quarry on Access Land. Probably climbed upon in the past by scout groups.

There are two sections. The left-hand section (pictured) seems to have had trees cut down relatively recently. Presumably this is to increase the sunlight on the old quarry face. There is the possibilty for about 4 (or 5) climbs of up to 8 metres in length.

The right-hand section has not been visited but is possibly more substantial. It is located around to the rightand is probably a little awkward to get to,

ACCESS

From the free car park, head through the gate and up the broad dry valley. At 200 metres, there is a long cairn on the left. A few metres before here, head off right into the trees and up the slope bearing rightwards.

To find your desired crag, type the name in to the Filter Markers box (top right corner of the map).
