Routes From Talbot (1970)

From Gower Peninsula (1970), p. 132:

1. Black Wall - 100ft., II, A2.

Start at the R side of the wall, just L of a yellow lichen streak. Above is a bulging overhang leading to a scoop—like ledge. Climb a black wall direct, then slightly L to below the overhang. Go over this With an awkward exit to the smooth sloping ledge. Go L to the grassy terrace, then further L to a deep crack. Follow this to a ledge, then up L and so to the top.

2. Trial - The best climb on this cliff. 100ft., II, A1.

Start down L from Route 1, by a narrow short crack. Climb up into a scoop, then up L in a vague corner by a thin crack (crux). Follow a thin crack which leads to a short wide crack L of an overhang. Climb this crack, then trend R to the grassy terrace. Exit as for Route 1.

3. The Worm - 100ft., IV, A1.

Start at the L side of the wall by a stalagmite formation. Climb up from a bulge, up the crack. R, to below an overhang. Go over this, then up a thin crack to a deep corner crack which leads to the grassy terrace; strenuous. Exit as for Route 1.

Var. - Take the wide crack L from the bottom bulge and climb the overhang at its L side. Continue up to a horizontal crack, then across to the deep corner crack.
