PREAMBLE

The quarry, situated 1 mile north of Caerphilly, provides the ultimate in user friendly ice climbing being only 2 miles walk from the main A469 Caerphilly to Llanbradach road. The cliff requires a long period of cold weather to bring these fine little climbs into full condition.

ACCESS

Access to the cliff is gained via a track passing under an obvious reinforced bridge 100m south of Llanbradach village. Follow this uphill and turn left just after the bridge. Walk along the main track with the railway on the left and following a look for a track into the trees opposite an electric station on the railway. The routes are reached in a further 100m; i.e. the lower left bay as facing the whole quarry.

DESCENTS

All routes finish by 'abseling' from the available trees. Please don't lower off or top-rope directly from the trees as the moving/running rope will damage them.
