Froglane Old Quarry, North Hill Tor

PREAMBLE

An old and very overgrown quarry in Llanmadoc and is, apparently, in a nature reserve. Very 'out-of-the-way' for the climber but, on the plus side, it is a beautiful place and a very pleasant pub is nearby in Llanmadoc.

The quarry has a (relatively) sizeable wall. The area is likely to be very damp for most of the year.

ACCESS

Head to Llanmadoc along the N. Gower Road. On entering Llanmadoc, drive past the Brittania Inn and park on the left side of the road after about 60 metres. Look for the signposted public footpath and take it as it goes alongsde the cottages, through a gate and then down to the meadows. After about 350 metres you pass a cottage on your left. 50 metres afterwards is an opening into the dense vegetation on the left. Take this opening for a few metres. The wall is then in front of you.
